This position is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, updating existing resort safety programs, developing and implementing new programs as identified.
This includes, but is not limited to, Workers' Compensation, UOSH, General Liability, Auto and Property Insurance claims and reporting, guest service issues resulting from injuries, on and off mountain safety and risk management training programs, and other matters involving employee and guest safety.
The Risk and Safety Manager is responsible for fostering a safety-minded culture resort-wide through positive influence and role-modeling, effective communication and education and other safety and risk management initiatives from time to time.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Coordinate and maintain company safety risk program and policies; assist with individual departments safety needs, facilitate risk education and specialized training; document and communicate safety related issues Function as the primary contact between insurance company representatives, counsel, and ski patrol; work with the ski patrol to coordinate procedures to document and investigate incidents Act as company representative for Alterra risk and legal Review, investigate, and record company vehicle and property accident reports and claims, incidents and/or accidents occurring in all departments Maintain records and documentation as required, including the management of the transition from MSDS to SDS in compliance with GHS requirements Coordinate with operations staff in monitoring industry issues.
Notify and/or remedy issues of non-compliance within ANSI B77.
1, UOSH, Utah Skier Safety Act and other pertinent legislation; recommend changes and/or improvements for consideration ln all lines of insurance (general liability, auto, property, etc.
) function as the primary liaison, assist to settle claims and make recommendations with legal counsel for settlement amounts Coordinate with Alterra Vice President of Risk Management and Legal on all lines of insurance.
Maintain proper schedules for property and vehicles to be insured.
Update insured values as appropriate Record general liability losses within deductible and follow procedures to obtain repayment within the self-insured program Manage release of guest and employee information according to company protocols and within legal and regulatory guidelines Develop a company safety committee Assist in administering and developing procedures for on and off-road vehicles and equipment Review current departmental job hazard analysis and make updates as necessary Coordinate insurance and access requirements personnel for construction companies operating at Deer Valley Resort Review Deer Valley Resort facilities for compliance with current county, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations including, but not limited to, Hazardous Material, Safety Data Sheets (S.

), Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Hazardous Waste Management, EPA Underground Storage Tank Regulations, confirm the maintenance of records and documentation as required by law Other duties as assigned Pay:
$70,000.
