Summary:
The Park City Municipal Corporation Transportation Planning Department is hiring a summer intern. Transportation Planning sets local transportation objectives, provides policy direction, and prioritizes investments to offer sustainable mobility options for the City. This position will last from May through August 2024. The minimum time commitment required is 10-15 hours per week. Extension of the position may be possible based on performance and ongoing internship needs. All skill sets are encouraged to apply. Multiple interns may be hired for this role.Under the general supervision of Transportation Planning, the intern will perform entry-level professional work in the transportation planning field, supporting various Park City Transportation Planning initiatives. This internship offers mentorship and hands-on experience in community engagement, transportation demand management (TDM), data collection, and local government. The intern will have an opportunity to gain transportation planning experience, build professional skills, and network with transportation and planning professionals. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver and passionate about multimodal transportation. TYPICAL DUTIES:
Conduct data collection and processing, including active transportation counts and sidewalk, crosswalk, and midblock crossing inventories Support TDM and multi-mobility initiatives through public awareness campaigns, education materials, and collaboration with local organizations Assist in organizing community events and programs such as Bike to School Day Graphic support for print, website, and social media content Attend and summarize meetings as assigned Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team Excellent customer service skills Ability to carry out tasks unsupervised Trustworthiness maintaining City assets Interest in and knowledge of active transportation and public transit MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate in the fields of urban planning, urban ecology, marketing, public relations, landscape architecture, civil engineering, geography, public administration, public policy, communications, nonprofit management, or related field 18 years of age by the start of employment Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, including public speaking Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with graphic design programs (such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva) Ability to work evenings and weekends for local and community events Ability to work in person in Park City for at least 50% of internship hours PREFERRED
Qualifications:
GIS software (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123, etc.) proficiency Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) proficiency Spanish fluency WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee must occasionally lift and move more than 20 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Work is performed primarily in an office setting Periodic exposure to stressful situations May require travel to and from meetings and local events Occasional non-traditional working hours, which may include evenings and weekends Compensation details:

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
